Benefits of Mentoring

Why is mentoring so important and becoming so popular?

Genevieve Dawid discusses mentoringIt is common these days for most ambitious individuals to have a mentor; but good rapport with a chosen mentor is vital. Mentoring is strictly confidential – a personal mentor is a trusted confidant and guide.

Mentoring is designed to help each person to fully understand where they are now, where they want to go, and how to achieve it in the best way possible.  It also provides a highly confidential way to share and explore problems, difficulties and strategies. Today, thousands of people worldwide from all walks of life benefit from mentoring.  Individuals can now get mentoring from a host of sources: parents, siblings, teachers, lecturers, councillors, or managers/supervisors in the workplace.

But who is available for those in charge, those at the top?  It can be a very lonely life at the top and like everyone else they benefit from mentoring.

I used to work primarily with MD’s and CEO’s, however over the past few years middle management have been promoted so quickly through the ranks that I have had a high demand from them for mentoring. For nearly a decade now I have specialised in working with middle and senior level personnel, in personal assessment, as well as consulting and mentoring.

Not only do clients benefit from healthy mentoring, additionally there are tremendous benefits for their respective businesses. This is why so many businesses support and actively encourage their staff to have a mentor, or attend a mentoring course. Some businesses also hold customised mentoring seminars in-house.

During the mentoring process there can be as much or as little input from me as each client requires.  There is an initial consultation, and a client may also elect to attend an Interactive Seminar. Afterwards I can be contacted by telephone or email for further meetings or personal consultation, if additional information is required.
