A naming ceremony is a special way of celebrating the birth of your baby, the new arrival into the family. It is also ideal for welcoming of stepchildren into a new family.
When a child is born the parents need to register the baby’s birth as a legal requirement to gain a birth certificate at their local registry office.
The celebration to formally announce the names chosen for the baby or child is in accordance with their parent(s) wishes. Not all parent(s) chose to name their child as a baby and may wait until they are older.
So the naming of child/children can be of any age.
Many parents decide not to have a traditional religious service, either because they do not hold any religious beliefs or because they want their child to be able to choose their own beliefs as they grow older. The ceremony can however have religious content including prayers, hymns and blessings. Along with the use of symbolism . Parents often ask about the child being anointed with water and or oil, this is still possible, although its symbolic meaning may differ.
Your ceremony will be written, collated and conducted by Genevieve and will be unique to you. Each ceremony is personalised so that any religious/beliefs can be incorporated into the service in accordance with the families wishes and promises.
Parents along with chosen supporters/God parents/guides can make promises before their family and friends of their commitment to support and nurture their child throughout their life. Family and friends can also make pledges and promises of their special support to the child and their future development.
In addition other possible inclusions may be incorporated such as the lighting of a candle(s) or symbolic meanings.
At no extra fee Genevieve, along with a member of her committed team will be there to to arrange the choreography and dress the immediate area where the ceremony will take place in the way that you chose.
A sound system is available if required at a reasonable charge.

(Genevieve was adopted herself)
As an adopted child Genevieve’s adoptions ceremonies are very poignant to her.
An Adoption Naming Ceremony (often just called a naming ceremony, but includes very poignant relevant wording). It can be non religious or religious content respecting the family’s joint faiths and beliefs.
There are many reasons for adoptions. Also, there are two main types of adoptions. Legal adoptions of a child under the age of 18 years, usually happen after much heartache, intervention and a legal process.
After a legal adoption it marks the end of that legal process and becomes a new chapter and fresh start of the child’s unification into the family and their future beyond.
There are adoption ceremonies for non legal adoptions, although still called Adoption or Naming Ceremonies which can happen for many reasons. It could be of a step child, surrogate aunt or uncle, grandparent etc welcomed into the family.
At no extra fee Genevieve, along with a member of her committed team will be there to arrange the choreography and dress the immediate area where the service will take place in the way that you chose.
